Sclerotherapy – the injection of obliterating agent into vessels which lead to endothelium damage and as a result of the vessel closure.

In many European countries, sclerotherapy is recognised as a gold standard treatment.

Recent research shows that telangiectasias

(spider veins on legs) is of hemodynamic significance and infiltrating such vessels is recommended. Sclerotherapy is a reproducible method. In the majority of cases, sclerotherapy allows to achieve very good results. Despite good results of that method, the expected effect cannot be always guaranteed.
